The Head of the Home

I see so many young men today who just slouch along being passive and whimpy and when they get married it seems that they slouch along even more behind their wives. Now, part of the problem is that a lot women don't know how to folow. Many women have learned from the feminine movement that women can be just as tuff as any guy. I beg to differ. Men and women are equal, it is true, but they're not the same. God created MAN first then he created the woman. Does that mean that God thought of women as less important? No indeed. But the point is that the man was created to be the 'head' of the woman, and he created the women to be the helper to the man. So let man be the leader, as many already are, and let the woman be a helper as God created her to be.

Thanks for the reminder that men shouldn't be passive whimps. In our culture there is a lot of pressure toward that.

An interesting thought on this subject.

In Psalm 121:2 My help comes from the Lord

Genesis 2:18 ...I will make a helper suitable for him(speaking of women).

God is our helper.
Women is also called a helper.

The word for helper, in the Hebrew, is the same word used to describe both.

Women, as mans helper, is not a lowly demeaning position, but a place of respect and honor.

Mike,
Thanks for that wonderful reminder! That's so cool you know Hebrew and are able to see that those words are the same. Indeed both places (leader and helper) are vital and blessed. Thank you!
