Where has time gone?

Life has accelerated to a greater speed than I feel comfortable driving with, but I guess I must learn how for it looks as if it will be at this speed for a while. While it is, my blog will be neglected more than it has been. But as life moves on I suppose this is a good thing. =) I hope you all are doing well!

Brooke, I finally posted a reply to your comment on my blog about Huckabee. Here it is:
--------
With apologies to the Huckabee fans for my delayed response, I find Mr. Huckabee quite lacking in the area of fiscal restraint along with his less-than-charming foreign policy.

The Cata Institute gave Huckabee an "F" score for fiscal policy, which is lower than many Democrat governors, and is the same as Montana's Brian Schwietzer. you can find the full report on cato.org.

Regarding foreign policy Huckabee is a Neocon, and I am not.

So that is the quick version of why I wouldn't consider Huckabee.

Bryce, Thanks for letting me know of your objections to Mike Huckabee. In the area of fiscal policy, I would agree entirely. In fact, you may not know that in many areas I think Ron Paul would make a fantastic president. His constitutional views are impressive to say the very least. Apart from his view on gay/lesbian matters I really have no complaint domestically, but as foreign policy goes, I am lacking in conviction that the terrorists came over here, because we were over there and by leaving the Middle East, they will leave us alone. So in summary, I think Mr. Paul may make a better president and may (like that e-mail you sent pointed out) be the only Republican who could win. Although, I like Huckabee’s views a lot better. It rather reminds me of the Bush – Peroutka (spelling?) quandary. That is, we supported many of the views of the latter, but figured Bush was the only one who could beat the Democrat. It rather comes down to a similar decision for me this time 'round. Decisions, decisions.... =)
